Local DJ Buys Girlfriend a Bass Coast Ticket for International Women’s Day—Gets Himself a Solo Shambhala Trip

Writer: Crimmu$Crimmu$

VANCOUVER—In a bold display of selective generosity, local DJ Kyle “SubSync” Matthews proudly surprised his girlfriend, Jenna, with a Bass Coast ticket for International Women’s Day—while quietly securing a solo Shambhala trip for himself.

"She deserves to be celebrated," Kyle told friends, conveniently leaving out the part where he strategically avoided a four-day couples’ meltdown in a sweltering tent.

Jenna initially appreciated the gesture—until she realized Kyle had already planned his Shambhala crew’s wristband pickup in a group chat she wasn’t in.

When asked why they wouldn’t be attending together, Kyle cited “different vibes” and “her not really getting d’n’b like that.” Sources close to Jenna confirm she likes drum & bass just fine—she just doesn’t like Kyle on ketamine.

At press time, Jenna was considering a festival situationship upgrade, while Kyle was busy crafting a heartfelt Instagram caption about women in music.
